Obama gave another great speech while he was in town over the weekend. But I know I wasn’t the only one who heard him say “Let’s Get Out’a Here” as he left the stage. I’ve been talking about this around the office and everyone heard it, yet no one wrote about it. The Daily Show didn’t mention it. Even the Colbert Report passed up the opportunity to roast the new Prez. Is Obama just in a honeymoon period and above criticism? Or did I just mishear or misinterpret the end of his speech? Fast forward to the 5:30 mark or so,
No matter your political affiliations, we are approaching a historical event. I’m going to try to get down to DC just to see the spectacle. My initial plan was to rent out my house in Pigtown and pocket some cash. But it’s too late for that now so why not join the masses?
Obama has a ton on his plate though doesn’t he? I don’t think the expectations heaped on his shoulders are fair or even possible to fulfill. Will be able to fix the economy, the housing market, and the auto industry? Will he force college football to adopt a playoff format? Does he have enough clout to help bring peace to the Middle East and withdraw troops from Iraq? Will he ever get his kids the puppy they’ve wanted for so long? Can he maintain his six-pack abs? I don’t know, but I can’t wait to find out.
