Hi!

Thanks for actually looking at those little ads on Facebook and for clicking on mine. Feel free to add me if you want to figure out if we knew each other at Salisbury or are looking for a Realtor. This is my personal page, not a bunch of real estate postings. I may link to an article or talk about an open house I’m holding but the majority of my updates are not real estate related at all.

I bought my house at an auction right after I got out of Salisbury in ‘04 and got a few paychecks in my pocket. My parents pretty much retired on the profits of selling their houses at the peak of the market. In fact, pretty much every well off person I know has made a portion of their nest egg off of real estate. I haven’t been that lucky yet but I save a ton in taxes every year and have built up a good bit of equity despite the recent downturn.

Of course there are a lot of people who have had terrible experiences as well. Many of these people took bad advice and are now paying for it. Fortunately, lending standards are tighter now so banks won’t allow you to buy a home you can’t realistically afford. Appraisers won’t approve a deal if the house isn’t worth the purchase price. And I am not the kind of Realtor who will always tell you that it’s always a great time to buy. I only want you to buy a house that you can be happy in for years to come and make money on when you move on to your next one.

So based on my personal experiences I decided to try to help other first time buyers get invested in real estate. I am a licensed Realtor who only works with a few clients at a time, mainly showing houses after work and on the weekends. If you’re thinking about buying a home and have an questions I’d be happy to talk to you about it.

Feel free to give me a call, Facebook me, or email me. Best of luck!

Stimulus bill leaves first time buyers unsatisfied

The first time home buyer tax credit that was passed last week as part of the overall stimulus package is a joke. It’s only $500 more than the credit that was already available! Sure, it doesn’t have to be paid back now, but what is that going to stimulate?

The original $15,000 tax credit could have helped make a huge difference in the housing market, the economy as a whole, and in a lot of people’s lives. Everything I want to say but can’t has been said in forums and posts across the country. So instead of saying them myself and getting in trouble, please take a look at how outraged people are in LA.

Now, to be productive.

Welcome

This is my blog about Baltimore, real estate, advertising, events, crime, investments, and anything else that pops into my head. My goal is to get more young people involved in improving Baltimore.

Step 1- research neighborhoods, pick one you like, and move there.
Step 2- get involved in the neighborhood associations, support local business, get to know your neighbors, etc.
Step 3- Gradually grow your neighborhood, your network or friends, and your investment all at the same time.

BTW, I am new to web design and am building this site on my own. So if anything is broken, missing, or just awful please comment and let me know. Click on a neighborhood from the list on the right for that area’s latest news and real estate listings. If you see anything that catches your eye, let me know and we can go check it out.
